Georgetown citizens shared green, gold and purple beads with their best four legged friends during Paws for Mardi Gras last Saturday, Feb. 20, in San Gabriel Park. Festivities included a parade of humans and canines dressed in fun costumes to celebrate the season. Those in costumes could paticipate in a best dressed dog costume contest as well as contests for biggest dog, smallest dog, cutest dog, best dog/person look alike and ugliest dog. Participants also walked the hike and bike trail around the park. Best of all, proceeds and donations collected during the event benefits the Georgetown Animal Shelter.
