Be a part of The BIG Event 2015!
In 2012, we had 88 volunteers.
In 2013, we had 170 volunteers.
In 2014, we blew our expectations out of the water with 360 volunteers!
In 2015….. 500?!?!!!!!
Maybe, with your help!
The BIG Event 2015 is on March 28.
If your organization is interested in co-sponsoring, you can send a representative to our planning committee, table or fundraise on our behalf, donate to The BIG Event, or provide a site for your members to volunteer at. Organization co-sponsors will be featured on the back of this year’s t-shirt and online!
The BIG Event is a day of service in March that gives Southwestern University students, faculty, staff, and alumni to spend a day volunteering with local nonprofits & Georgetown community partners.
The BIG Event aims to engage with the Georgetown community that surrounds and supports our university students. The intent is three-fold:
- To raise awareness about a variety of social, political, and economic issues in Georgetown
- To strengthen partnerships
- To empower students to engage with their community
While The BIG Event is only a single day, we hope that it will support the development of a more sustained and active relationship between Georgetown and the SU campus.
