  The BIG Event is a day of service, which encourages Southwestern University students, faculty, staff, & alumni to spend a day volunteering within the Georgetown community. 

 

Modeled after Texas A&M’s 30-year tradition, The BIG Event aims to engage with the Georgetown community that surrounds and supports our university students.  The intent is three fold:

  1. To raise awareness about a variety of issues that nonprofits are addressing within the local community
  2. To strengthen partnerships between the Southwestern and Georgetown communities
  3. To say “Thank you!” for welcoming our students into the greater community. 

 

While The BIG Event is only a single day, we hope that it will support the development of a more sustained and active relationship between Georgetown and the SU campus.
