Alumnae Newsletter - Fall
2007
Greetings to all of you lovely Lambda ladies!
Lambda Chapter kicked off this fall semester with the recruitment
of four amazing additions to the proud tradition of Zeta Tau Alpha
women. Kaity Cromwell, Cheryl Duncan, Andrea Miller, and Laura
Kromann make up our new 2007 fall pledge class. The members of
the chapter held a mini- bidnight
for our new girls to celebrate them through Zeta sisterhood and
spirit with activities made to match this year's recruitment theme, "Team
Zeta".
As much as we enjoyed dressing up to match this theme, nothing
compared to how thrilled we were about having these girls in our
chapter. Once again we are happy to welcome these newbies--a group
of well-rounded and dedicated students and sisters who truly represent
all that makes us proud to be Zetas.
We are also proud to report that President Ashley Battarbee and VP1
Kalie Trueper (pictured below right) returned from ZTA National
Leadership Convention this summer with three prestigious awards
for the chapter: Crown Chapter, Quota Total, and the Major Donor Award
for fundraising. Remarking on her experiences at the convention,
Ashley Battarbee recalls being excited to "tour the newly remodeled
international office and meet our new Province President, Kat Reed." As
a chapter we look forward to what the future holds and building off
this last year's success--ever upholding and strengthening the reputation
and legacy
of Lambda Chapter.
Most recently, our members held Lambda Chapter's Fourth Annual
Crown Classic Dodgeball Tournament to raise money for our philanthropy,
breast cancer awareness and education. The event was a tremendous success
with a large turn-out of Southwestern students creating teams to vie
for the coveted title of Dodgeball Champions. As a chapter we are enormously
thankful to all the teams that competed, the Georgetown community for
its prize-donations, and Jean Herberger our fundraising chair for
taking on the responsibility of organizing the event.
Next on our agenda is the initiation of the Fall 2007
Pledge Class which we be held on campus on Friday, November 23. Also
as next semester continues to grow closer,
coming up are a number of formal and informal recruitment activities.
For now that's all from Lambda Chapter, as we are busying ourselves
with preparations for an exciting spring semester!
Zeta love,
Eryn Snyder
