SOUTHWESTERN TRAVELS TO ANOTHER STATE TO GET A FORFEIT (2/7/04)
At 3 a.m. on Saturday, February 7th, Southwestern met in the Cullen
parking lot and proceeded to head up I-35 towards Shreveport, LA,
the home of Centenary College, an LSA Div. B opponent.
Southwestern had never faced the Gents before and was
unfortunately not allowed to face them on this day, as Centenary
was unprepared, and failed to properly line the field with safety
or precision in mind.
At 1p.m., the start time, the refs called the game due to the
field conditions and Centenary forfeited the game.
It was very frustrating and disappointing for the 24 members of
the team that did make the trip.
After a quick bite to eat, SU moved on and down the road to
Nacogdoches to ready for its game on Sunday.
