Bucs finish great season with a tough loss [4/25/04] - On Saturday, April 24th, the Bucs, many parents and family member, and a lot of SU students and supporters, travelled down to San Marcos to see the Bucs play in their first playoff game in almost 10 years.
All-Star winners: 2004 [4/23/04] - Congratulations to the following All-Star winners on the Men's Lacrosse Team: David Caldwell, Matt Gainey, Matt Biermacher, & Mike Jeffcoat.
Bucs Secure #1 spot in Div. B playoffs [4/20/04] - The playoffs are set. The Bucs have secured the first seed in the Div. B playoffs with an 8-1 record in conference. They will play the #4 seed - Nichols State University [NSU] at 4 pm on Saturday in San Marcos.
The Bucs knock off #7 in the nation in overtime [4/18/04] - On Sunday, April 18th, #21 nationally ranked SU hosted #7 nationally ranked UTA for a showdown that would decide the number one seed in the playoffs next weekend. The loser would drop all the way to three.
SU loses at home to TSU for the first time ever [4/4/04] - With the scores TSU had been putting up against perennial powerhouses in the A division this year, SU knew the game would be a very tough one. It was. On one of the most beautiful days of the year, and the temperature creeping up with the humidity, SU had a tough task at hand if it wanted to maintain its unbeaten streak at home against SWT/TSU.
SU solidifies spot in playoffs with win over AC [3/28/04] - After a terrible second half on Saturday against Harding University, SU was treated with a great overnight stay at Om Panchal's parent's house...a truly inspiring experience. Much appreciation from the team and the university goes to the Panchal family for allowing the motley crew that is the SU lacrosse team stay at their house overnight.
SU plays historic game against #16 Harding University [3/27/04] - On Saturday, March 27th, SU travelled up to UTA to play Harding University from Arkansas at a neutral site, in the first ever meeting between the two teams. Harding came in undefeated and ranked #16 in the nation, and SU came in at 6-3 and #17 in the nation. The game proved to be a tale of two halves.
SU falls to nationally ranked SMS [3/23/04] - Playing at home under the lights for the first time since 2001 when SU hosted an up and coming Oakland University [MI], SU came back fresh from Spring Break and a six game win streak, to play one of the biggest conversation teams in Div. B, SMS.
Six in a row with win over St. Edward's [2/29/04] - On Sunday, The Buc's made the short trip down to St. Ed's in Austin to play the very tough Hilltoppers on one of the nicest fields in the league.
SU continues to roll in division play; UT-San Antonio recap [2/29/04] - Southwestern hosted the UTSA Roadrunners, winless on the season, but still a very talented team. In fact, last year UTSA took the lead in SA with 26 seconds left before SU came back to tie the game and eventually win in overtime.
Parents Weekend a huge success with win over UT Dallas [2/21/04] - In front of one of our largest crowds of the young season, SU hosted UT-D[or portions of UT-D] on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.
What a Valentine's Day: Tulane recap [2/14/04] - The week leading up to Valentines Day, weather wise, was absolutely horrific. The days were cold and rainy, the fields were wet, and the guys on the team full of complaints.
SU gets solid win against SFA [2/8/04] - With a bitter taste in its mouth, the SU Bucs arrived in Nacogdoches with the knowledge that the day before, SFA had come out and beat the reigning Div B champion St. Ed's Hilltoppers. To further place significance on the game, the local Nacogdoches paper had a picture of the game on the front page of the paper.
SU travels to another state to get a forfeit [2/7/04] - At 3 a.m. on Saturday, February 7th, Southwestern met in the Cullen parking lot and proceeded to head up I-35 towards Shreveport, LA, the home of Centenary College, an LSA Div. B opponent.
Great crowd, great game, tough loss [1/31/04] - Southwestern [and quite a few of its fans] travelled down to Trinity on Saturday to play the Trinity Tigers, a place where SU came out and upset the Tigers three years ago.
SU opens season with a tough loss [1/26/04] - The Bucs opened their 2004 campaign on Sunday at Moses Field against Nicholls State, on what turned out to be a beautiful day.
