Recruitment Events

Picnic with the Pi's is our first Panhellenic-sponsored event of the year. It is a chance for first-year and independent women to get to know us in a relaxed environment with food and games.

Cookies & Pi’s is our second Panhellenic-sponsored event of the year. We invite first-year and independent women to help us make jars of cookie mix to take to our philanthropy, the Ronald McDonald House (RMH). At this time, we explain exactly what we do for RMH and how much it means to us.

Philanthropy Events

In the Spring of 2011, we brought back the Mocktails Competition for RMH, a campus wide fundraiser. We invited students (and ADPi alums!) to create teams under the central theme of Vacation Destinations Around the World, and to create a non-alcoholic drink to go with their group theme. Each group set up a booth with crazy decorations and costumes and had samples of their drink concotion for other students to taste. We also had a panel of SU Celebrity Judges walking around to each group to taste their drink and give them points for their creativity. Four prizes were given out, including the "Best In Show" cup for the best overall team. The event was a huge success and helped us to raise $5,000 to donate to RMH at the end of the semester. We will be holding Mocktails again later this semester (Spring of 2012) and we hope to see you there!
Ronald McDonald House visits are a regular part of an ΑΔΠ sister’s semester. Sisters go on several trips per semester to RMH in their prides and diamond families. We cook, clean, and organize the houses in Austin and Temple. We help wherever we can to make the families stays as comfortable as possible.
Other Philanthropy Events occur every semester to help raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities. Be sure to watch around campus for our pop-tab collection boxes and news about more ΑΔΠ philanthropy events.

The sisters of Alpha Delta Pi are truly dedicated to a variety of causes, and we support other organizations’ philanthropies as well as other philanthropic causes. Sisters recently participated in the Delta Delta Delta 'Catwalk to End Fat Talk' event to raise awareness about body image and eating disorders, as well as contributing to the Pi Kappa Alpha 'Show Down Benefit Concert' to support the Bastrop Fire Relief Efforts. In the fall, girls also participated in a Shopping Cart Parade and Food Drive benefiting the Caring Place in Georgetown, and the Ronald McDonald House Lights of Love 5k in Austin.

Social Events

Fall Date Party is a fun event that takes place in the Fall semester. In 2010 we had a Mallard Ball themed date party where sisters got to two-step to great country music and enjoy a bonfire and a hayride through the Texas hill country. This past fall we had a Spooky Halloween costume party that was in the basement of an abandoned building! There was plenty of dancing and halloween games, including bobbing for apples.

Date party is typically a semi-formal event to which each sister may invite a date. Costumes are always entertaining and the company is superb!

Sorority Mixers are a great way to socialize with girls in different sororities and just have fun goofing off with the gals. Recently we've had a 90's Night with the women of Delta Delta Delta and a tea with the ladies of Alpha Xi Delta.
Fraternity Mixers are a fun way for ΑΔΠ sisters to get a change to know the fraternity men. Every semester ΑΔΠ holds mixers with our campus fraternities, and there’s always something fun going on! In the past we've held S’mores, Pi's & Phi's, Mr. Pi Kappa Alpha Talent Show, and a KA cookout.

Spring Formal is known as Black Diamond Ball. This is a chance for our chapter to get dressed up and say goodbye our seniors. We enjoy a wonderful dinner, dancing, and casino games.

Sisterhood Events

Throughout the year, the Total Membership Education team plans numerous sisterhood events. These include movie nights, pumpkin carving, making crafts, bowling, competing in a Field Games day, and celebrating birthdays! We have so much fun hanging out with our sisters!
One of our favorite events of the semester is the Chapter Retreat. Planned by our Membership Education Vice President, this weekend is spent at a cheer gym bouncing on the tramplines or camping out for the night at a park. We stay up late chatting about the semester, snacking on munchies, getting to know each other better, and bonding with our new Alpha class. The Chapter Retreat is a memorable and touching experience that every ΑΔΠ will remember for the rest of her life.
Mother’s Tea is hosted in the spring and is a way for Delta sisters to involve their moms. ΑΔΠ has a special mother’s pin that moms can wear to share in our fellowship.

We also plan a day with our fathers. Whether it’s a day out at the ball field for Daddy-Daughter Baseball or a Father-Daughter Campout, we love spending time with our dads.

Alumnae Events

Zeta Chapter welcomes our lovely alumnae during Homecoming Weekend in the fall. The chapter participates in the SING! Homecoming event as well as hosts an Open Chapter Room event in our lovely suite in the Sharon Lord Caskey Center. In the Spring semester, Zeta Chapter hosts another Open Chapter for Founders Day, once again to honor our Pi members.

Our active Delta members and alumnae Pi members celebrate sisterhood with Pi Dinners, hosted by our local Pi members, during initiation week. This gives new and current Delta sisters a chance to connect with Pi sisters in the area.
