The Southwestern University Dancers (SUDS) were founded by Crystal Jackson, Coralie Taylor, and Porscha Williams in November 2006. On December 10, 2006, the first try-outs for the SUDS were held in the Robertson Center. Twelve women came together to create the first squad. On January 26, 2007, the SUDS debuted and have been wowing fans ever since. The team’s style is a mix of jazz, hip-hop, and drill team; it mirrors that of a professional basketball team’s dance squad. The SUDS make numerous appearances around campus and around the state of Texas. If you ever want to see the squad perform, they are at every home basketball game.
