Tisha Temple earned a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies and Spanish from Trinity University and a Master of Arts in International Education from the School for International Training Graduate Institute. She studied abroad in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina in high school and at the Universidad de Costa Rica in college. Temple has also traveled extensively to evaluate study abroad programs. Her master’s thesis looked at the connection between food and culture for students studying abroad in Italy. She is active in the International Education association, NAFSA, and previously taught a course preparing students for cultural adjustments in study abroad.
Study Abroad Specialist
Matthew Slaten earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing, minoring in Spanish, from the University of Denver. He studied abroad at the Universidad de Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain and later lived in Madrid, Spain upon graduating from DU. Slaten has a background in marketing consulting with an emphasis on consumer segmentation, targeting, and versioning. Additionally, he held positions with Regis University (Study Abroad Advisor Intern), the University of Denver (English Language Center Volunteer), and International Studies Abroad - ISA (Site Specialist, Spain) prior to Southwestern University. He has demonstrated success in bridging cultural and language differences in the study, live, and work abroad environments and is a member of NAFSA, IIE, TIM, and the Spain — U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
