Iris Schendstok in Pursuit of her Educational Specialist Degree
From Southwestern to the University of Denver, Iris is studying School Psychology with plans of working with children in school settings.
After graduating from Southwestern, I continued on to graduate school at the University of Denver to study school psychology. I will graduate in June 2015 with her Educational Specialist degree with a focus on early childhood, which will allow me to work with children 0-21 in school settings. I will be working with children who have or are suspected of having a developmental delay or disability, as well as general mental health needs in schools. I hope to work at an elementary school or at a preschool after graduation.
I am also presenting a poster about the effects of hippotherapy (therapeutic horse riding) on children with autism spectrum disorders and cerebral palsy at the fall conference for Colorado Society of School Psychologists in connection to my capstone project with Dr. Muir-Broaddus.
