Three Southwestern University theatre students were judges at the University Interscholastic League (UIL) One-Act Play competition in Jarrell, Texas. The One-Act Play contest is the largest junior high and high school theatre competition in the world, with more than 14,000 Texas students participating. The UIL One-Act Play contest is a competition where schools present an 18-40 minute play. There are five levels of competition: Zone, District, Area, Region, and State. At each level, the judges award individual acting awards and select two productions to advance to the next level of competition. This year, Southwestern University theatre students Alison Meagher-Manson ‘13, Lauren Knutti ‘13, and Alejandra Navarro ’16 were invited to judge a division of the competition.
