Amanda became engaged in fundraising as a community volunteer when she returned to her hometown of Waco, after completing her B.A. in psychology at Texas Tech University. Her passion for fundraising and developing relationships with potential donors grew into a career when she decided to leave the corporate world of pharmaceutical sales and put her selling skills to use for several non-profits, including the American Cancer Society. There, she helped complete a $100 million comprehensive campaign and oversaw regional and local fundraising efforts. She accepted her first position in higher education fundraising as the Director of Development and Major Gifts at Baylor University. Amanda accepted her current position as Director of Leadership Gifts at Southwestern in 2009, and feels privileged to work with alumni, parents and friends of Southwestern interested in making gifts to support the institution. She and her dog and cat live in the historic district of Georgetown, and in her spare time she enjoys socializing with friends and family.
