According to data from the National Association of Colleges and Employers’ 2009 Student Survey, grads with internship experience earned full-time jobs upon graduation at a rate nearly 10 percentage points highter than those graduates with no internship experience, the October 28, 2009, edition of the NACE Spotlight e-newsletter reports.

In this highly competitive job market, most new graduates are more challenged than ever to find full-time employment, and very few had done so at the time of graduation - only 19.7 percent, according to the NACE study, conducted between February and April, 2009, with more than 16,500 graduating seniors nationwide participating.

Of new grads who boasted internship experience, 23 percent had secured full-time employment, while only 14 percent of those who had not interned had found a position.
