Public viewing nights will be held:

Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, 8–10:30 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015, 8–10:30 p.m. (total lunar eclipse)

Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, 8–10:30 p.m.

In addition, the observatory will host a “Yoga Under the Stars” fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 8-10:30 p.m. Details can be found at http://www.southwestern.edu/offices/observatory.

Faculty members from the Physics Department at Southwestern, as well as members of the Williamson County Astronomy Club will be on hand to guide viewing. Since the observatory opened in 1997 there have been 11,667 visits to the public viewing nights.

Viewing nights are free and open to the public, but donations are encouraged to help maintain the observatory, which is located on the northeast side of campus, adjacent to the Rockwell Baseball Field (see #6 on the campus map at http://www.southwestern.edu/map).
