Groundbreaking and Construction of the New Science Center
Southwestern broke ground for its new science center on April 25, 2014 and construction on the first phase of the project began in September 2014. Keep checking back to see photos from the project.

Oct. 1, 2014 - Demolition of part of the existing south side of the building is under way.
Phase One of the new science center will wrap around the portion of the existing Fondren-Jones Science Center that is shown in this photo.
Landscaping near the existing building is removed in preparation for the new addition.
May 2014: Classrooms and offices that front the sides where the new addition will be built are emptied.
