Senior A.C. Cox served as emcee for the event.
Ernest Clark, Southwestern's first African-American graduate, played and sang one of his original compositions.
1973 graduate Sammie Robinson shared her experience at Southwestern. After graduating from Southwestern, Robinson received graduate degrees from SMU and the University of Kansas. She is now an assistant professor of management at Prairie View A&M University.
1983 graduate Janine Pope shared her experience at Southwestern. She is now the HR director for the Texas Lottery Commission.
1992 graduate Angelyque Campbell shared her experience at Southwestern. She earned a Truman Scholarship, received a law degree from UT, and is now a policy analyst for the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C.
2008 graduate LaToya Alexander shared her experience at Southwestern. She is now with Teach for America in Memphis, Tenn.
