Moodle

Moodle is Southwestern's next generation of Learning and Content Management System.

Starting with the Fall 2010 semester, Moodle will be available to any Southwestern student, faculty and staff member to use for course sites and for sites where the features of Moodle provide great learning, teaching and research experiences.

For some resources for exploring and learning about Moodle, check out:

demo.moodle.net

This demo site gives examples of the various resources and activities available in a standard Moodle setup. You can access the content using one of the three sample accounts listed on the site. The Teacher account will give you an idea of what you will see as the owner of your site and trying out Student account will show the view from a student's perspective. Note that we have added some extra resources and activities to our Southwestern Moodle so you will see more "stuff" in our Moodle!

docs.moodle.org

The documentation for Moodle is a very good resource. There is a subject area titled Teacher which highlights the features available to Moodle users in Teacher roles - that is what role all owners/creators of site content in Moodle are in.

Faculty:

Please contact Melanie Hoag at hoagm@southwestern.edu if you would like to begin exploring Moodle for a Fall class or classes. We will also work with you and provide assistance in getting your Segue sites onto Moodle.
