Miles for Money

Pledge your support to SU alumnus, Thomas Singletary ’98, in his 21k effort to raise money for the Jaysn Flynn Jameson Endowed Scholarship at Southwestern.

While he may be a relative newcomer to the marathon arena, Southwestern alumnus Thomas Singletary is no tenderfoot when it comes to sponsoring the causes closest to his heart. Having supported the university with annual gifts over the last decade, Thomas recently began participating in the annual Fun Run at Homecoming – an event conceived by Kenda (Jameson) Evans ’92 to fund a scholarship in memory of her brother, Jaysn Jameson ’90. Thomas is now treading his own path to increase support of the Jaysn Flynn Jameson Endowed Scholarship and seeks your help in honoring the memory of his late fraternity brother through Miles for Money.

During a planned vacation with friends this fall—to one of the oldest and arguably most beautiful of the Hawaiian islands—Thomas will run the Kauai half marathon on September 6, 2009. To raise awareness of and support for the Jameson Scholarship, Thomas requests your participation in Miles for Money. Thomas and his wife, Meredith (Cate) Singletary ’98, plan to match 10% of all gifts received through Miles for Money up to $500. Further details and a variety of pledge options can be found on the Miles for Money pledge form.

You may also make a donation directly to the Jaysn Flynn Jameson Endowed Scholarship, to be considered under the Miles for Money effort, through a convenient, online gift form. Your tax deductible gift will enrich the educational experience of a Southwestern student in the Natural Sciences program while helping Thomas to achieve his marathon goal!
