Laura Hobgood-Oster, professor of Religion and Environmental Studies, is giving an invited lecture at Sewanee (the University of the South) April 11 titled “Journey to the Afterlife: Humans and Dogs Into Eternity?”

Laura Hobgood-Oster, professor of religion and environmental studies, has been invited to join the Advisory Council of the National Museum of Animals and Society. The museum focuses on human-animal studies, animal protection history, and humane education. Each year it launches two or three online or travelling exhibits, reaches 1,300 students with its free humane education programs, acquires hundreds of items for its collection, library and archive, and welcomes student interns. Other members of the Advisory Council include internationally recognized scholars Marc Bekoff, Linda Kalof, Gary Steiner and Brett Mizelle.
