Animal physiology, veterinary medicine, anatomyDr. Ard (DVM, Texas A&M '56) has been teaching in the Department of Biology at Southwestern for the last five years. Collectively, he has over 27 years of teaching experience and ran a successful small veterinary practice for 32 years before retiring. He continues to contribute his expertise in the field of veterinary medicine by pre-vet advising and participating as a member of the Animal Behavior Program Committee. Dr. Ard also serves as the veterinarian for review of animal welfare protocols on campus. Dr. Ard often teaches a section of Human Biology Today for non-science majors. He routinely holds office hours and welcomes student questions.
