Art Exhibit- Calligraphy: The Art of the Written Line
(Fine Arts)

Facsimile scrolls from the Taipei National Palace Museum, Taipei City, Taiwan. The scrolls are a selection from the Six Dynasties Period (256-581) through the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The original scrolls rarely travel, so each scroll is printed in the original size using a high-resolution photographic process. These selections show a shared heritage from the aesthetics of calligraphic writing to the flowing lines of landscape painting, which borrowed calligraphy techniques.

This exhibit is in preparation for the 8th Annual International Hanzi Calligraphy Conference at Southwestern on October 8-10.
