Message from the President
Dear Seniors and Families of the Class of 2013,
On behalf of the Southwestern University community, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to our seniors and the families who have supported them in their educational pursuits. It is my pleasure to invite you to join us as we honor the class of 2013 during Southwestern’s 169th Commencement celebration.
Commencement weekend is a special time to witness many of the University’s finest traditions that are designed to recognize the hard work and contributions made by our students during their time here. These include the ceremonial ringing of the historic Rutersville Bell, the annual Commencement address, and the congratulatory recessional as graduates exit through a corridor created by their faculty.
Thank you for entrusting your student to us. Southwestern University not only strives to offer an enriching educational experience, but also to support an environment that encourages lifelong learning and a passion for intellectual growth. Reinforcing the foundation you have provided, Southwestern seeks to empower our students as they prepare for a life of purpose and generosity. The Class of 2013 will join other Southwestern alumni who continue to exemplify Southwestern’s core purpose of “encouraging contributions toward the well-being of humanity”.
